Budapest City Park: Culture and Art in a Heritage Garden

As part of the World Urban Parks Symposium 2026, we’re sharing this presentation by Laszlo Puczko, exploring how Budapest City Park brings together historic landscapes, cultural institutions and contemporary recreation.

Through the Liget Budapest project, the presentation highlights park renovations that include playgrounds, a sensory garden, sports facilities and botanical spaces. It also showcases restored heritage buildings and cultural destinations, including the Museum of Ethnography and the House of Music Hungary, alongside the management and partnerships that support visitor experiences and community activities.

Whether you couldn’t join us in Istanbul or would like to revisit your notes, this material offers an opportunity to explore how heritage conservation, cultural programming and everyday park use come together within a shared public landscape.

Explore the presentation and discover how Budapest City Park connects cultural heritage with new opportunities for recreation and community life.
