World Urban Parks Congress 2022
WUP Conference
Monterrey, Mexico on May 13th, 2022.
World Urban Parks in partnership with the National Association of Parks and Recreation of Mexico, present for the first time in the Americas the World Urban Parks Congress (WUP Congress 2022) .
World Urban Parks is a global organization, aiming to promote and support the effective provision, management and use of urban parks, open spaces and recreation throughout the world to achieve healthy communities connected to the natural world.
In recent years, countries such as Portugal, South Africa, Australia, and Albania have hosted this event. WUP Congress 2022 will be held in Monterrey, Mexico from November 14 to 18 for its outstanding history of innovation, entrepreneurship, and renewed interest in recovering public space to create a safer society and in achieving a greener Monterrey.
For five days there will be 6 keynote session, +40 educational sessions, +15 experiential and curricular workshops and a commercial exhibition with more than 80 companies from the parks industry.

The Congress reflects the conviction that creating, planning, and improving the world’s urban parks to create safe spaces for coexistence is one of the most important priorities of the organization. Public space is where many of our most critical social transformations occur, producing myriad benefits for the residents of our communities and our cities.
This global effort, where green meets social, will bring together leaders from more than 50 countries such as: mayors, public servants, and officials; specialized professionals, organized civil society, universities, housing developers; and manufacturers and suppliers of urban equipment and furniture.
More than 2,500 participants will exchange experiences, best practices and success stories on relevant topics for the construction of our cities. Among the tracks of the congress, the following stand out:
- Participation, inclusion, and sociability
- Health & Wellness
- Equity, economy, and funding
- Programs, recreation, and events
- Environment and sustainability
- Design, infrastructure, and equipment
Also, during the WUP Congress 2022, there will be the Expo Parques, a specialized Comercial exhibition that brings together the entire urban equipment industry. In it, they will promote their products and services, having more and better parks and public spaces in Latin America and the world, to have greener public spaces that promote human development.
In previous editions of Expo Parques, exhibitors had the opportunity to meet potential clients, contact public officials and real estate developers at the regional and national levels, managing to strengthen alliances among them for a more humane and sustainable development of cities.
