About our Speakers:

German Enriquez

German Enriquez

German Enríquez is a Certified Parks Professional from Mexico with extensive expertise in sustainable development and parks management. 

As the former Executive Director of both San Pedro Parques and the Metropolitan Park of León,

he managed significant urban parklands, leading large teams and elevating international recognition through multiple Green Flag Awards. 

With a Master’s in Environmental Engineering and a successful consulting background, German also serves as a board member of World Urban Parks and the World Parks Academy, where he contributes to global strategic planning and certification programs for parks professionals worldwide.

Jennifer Dowdell

Jennifer Dowdell

Jennifer Dowdell, ASLA, is the Practice Lead for Landscape Ecology, Planning and Design at Biohabitats, based in Baltimore, MD. 

For close to two decades she has worked at the interface of ecology, landscape architecture, & conservation planning

on projects ranging from greenways to state parks, college campuses, regional and citywide ecological networks. 

Her work merges landscape ecology, resilience strategies, and environmental justice in site design and regional planning. She earned her MLA from the University of Michigan’s School of Environment & Sustainability and her prior experience in writing and advocacy informs her work facilitating dialogue on the social and ecological narratives that engage nature in design. 

Biohabitats was awarded the ASLA LA Firm Award for 2023 and Jennifer recently became a member of the Board of Directors of the Landscape Architecture Foundation.

Eric Larrey

Eric Larrey

Eric Larrey is the Director of Innovation at VERDI Engineering Group. 

With a degree in Engineering and a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Eric has been working in research for 37 years. 

Initially in aeronautics, then in biotechnology, and now in the environmental sector. For the past 6 years, he has focused on the applications of digital technologies (IoT, digital twin, AI) in modeling urban behavior in the face of global warming and climate change, with a particular emphasis on urban nature, user comfort, reducing impervious surfaces, and rainwater infiltration.

Howell Davies

Howell Davies

Howell Davies has a practical arboricultural background with 30 years’ experience in tree care, contract management, and urban streetscape redevelopment.

In December 2016, Howell took on the new role of Principal Advisor Urban Ngahere (Forest)

for Auckland Council and was part of a team of specialists who developed the council’s Urban Ngahere (forest) Strategy for Auckland. 

Howell has volunteered for NZ Arboricultural Association, was on the executive committee 2018-2023 and was President of the Association 2021-2023. In his spare time Howell is a keen surfer, fisherman and enjoys keeping a home vegetable garden.
