The World Urban Parks Europe Region members are joined by Maxime Guérin from Plante & Cité – the world’s only national research thinktank, established to focus exclusively on parks and greenspace related issues.
The aim of this session is to present examples from around the world where the Principles are put into practice to achieve healthy parks from design to end use. Information shared will include discussion of issues, challenges encountered and successes.
Global perspectives: How urban parks can enhance the special connection between nature and play
The focus of this webinar will be on South African parks, recreation, and open public spaces to promote social connectedness and health.
These three presenters from around the world will share insights about how to quantify the impacts of various park activities, and the group will explore best practices to minimize carbon output and maximize carbon capture in urban parks.
Parks are essential for all of us but are less used by women and girls due to concerns about safety, health and wellbeing impacts.
