This webinar will run through the basics of Urban Resilience and its relevance to World Parks design and management.
We will introduce the theoretical framework underpinning planned urban resilience, the complexities faced by the resilience officer and the role of nature based solutions (SBN) in making parks -and therefore cities- more resilient in a context of sudden change.
About our speakers

Lorenzo Chelleri
Lorenzo Chelleri is the Director of the International Master in City Resilience Design and Management and Chair of the Urban Resilience Research Network (URNet). With a background in urban and regional planning, environmental policy and urban geography, he worked for the European Environment Agency (EEA), developed case study research in Mexico, Bolivia,
Morocco, Europe and Asia and published more than 50 papers in scientific journals.

Eduard Carrasco
Eduard Carrasco is a Civil Engineer with a background of 15 years as a public servant, expert in urban infrastructures and urban transformation works. The last 3 years he managed the Operation Center and worked as Resilience Advisor in the municipality. Recently he has started to focus the efforts on the new city Climate Master Plan at the ground of Adaptation and
Resilience. Also part of his work is maintaining an active connection and communication with other cities in the world and with international stakeholders and networks about resilience as UN-Habitat, UNDRR, Resilient Cities Network.

Gabino Carballo
Gabino Carballo is an Environmental Agrobiologist, Project Manager and seasoned landscape architect with over 25 years of experience in green infrastructure, urban biodiversity, and sustainable landscape design. As Founding Partner at Natural Base Solutions SL, Gabino specialises in integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in urban green space design and
management. His work spans public and private sector projects, where he focuses on ecological Mediterranean planting design and management, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) and the promotion of biodiversity in urban environments.
